Tony Ferro
Most biographies start at the beginning, and this shall be no different, but with a twist.
Tony was there, at the beginning of the birth of punk rock, alternative music and at a time when art and music meshed to form a neighborhood a collaboration of culture.
Playing right from the start in the western New York music scene: Three Little Words, Cellophane Cello, Tension and Green Jello’s original line ups featured Tony on drums.
The diversity of the music in those formative alternative years allowed Tony to have a base of styles to work within, and make his own.
Tony still plays with [Wicked] Tension and here is what Tymn Tension lead singer has to say about Tony: “in addition to the creative rhythm and various time signatures the thing I enjoy most about Tony’s drumming is that he picks up on the mannerisms of those he is playing with. If I begin accentuating a word or movement, I will start hearing a little something to accentuate my performance; a little crash a louder tom a dramatic pause. These bring a smile to my face and keep things fresh, on songs played many times over.”
As many do, Tony left Buffalo to move to Hollywood. He has continued to be at the forefront of genre defining bands and grow as a drummer. Past bands consist of The Rhythm Coffin, Radioactive Chicken Heads. To each band, he brings a style that accents the music. It is not the same style rasped to fit another band. It is from the beginning, built for that band.
Tony keeps the freak flag flying by performing on stilts and flaming jump ropes; a harkening back to the formative years of art and music culture that time when creativity oozed from everyone.
Tony Ferro is a solid drummer.
Most of this bio talked about everything but drumming. Well, you will hear that soon enough. Consider this an A&R report on what this guy brings to the table. Whether your need is to replace worn parts or your need is to begin a musical journey.
Tony is the go to drummer.
